How the generator works

You add everyone's name, plus any pairs who shouldn't draw each other. Your browser then shuffles the group so that nobody gets themselves, and gives each person a private link. Opening the link shows who they drew, after a tap, so a glance over their shoulder doesn't spoil it.

Because the match is stored inside the link itself, plzly doesn't keep a list of names or matches anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Are the names stored anywhere?
No. The draw runs in your browser, and plzly never receives the names. Each match lives inside that person's private link, and the part of a link after the # sign is not sent to any server.
How are the names drawn?
Your browser shuffles the group with a secure random number generator. Nobody draws themselves, and any pairs you excluded, such as couples, never draw each other.
What if I close the page before sending the links?
The draw is gone, because nothing is saved. Send every link before you close the tab. If you lose it, just draw again.
Can the organizer see who drew whom?
The organizer holds all the links, so they could open them. If you want to play too, ask a friend to run the draw, or agree not to open anyone else's link.
Do people need an account to see their match?
No. Anyone with their private link can open it and tap to reveal who they drew. There is no sign-up.
How many people can I add?
From 3 to 50.
How do I find out what my person wants?
Ask everyone to make a free plzly wishlist and paste its link next to their name. Their Secret Santa then gets a button straight to that list and can claim a gift in secret.
